Brief History

The department of Radiology started functioning in 1970. Dr. C.P Mathew was the 1st professor in 1973.The department bifurcated into department of Radiodiagnosis and Radiotherapy in 1984. Four X -ray machines are functioning in the department. Ultrasound scanner installed in 1999. Colour Doppler installed in 2004. 800 mA X-RAY with IITV administrative sanction obtained.and tender notification already given.

Operations : CONVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY SPECIAL INVESTIGATION USS, COLOUR DOPPLER.
FOUR SLICE CT SCAN . 

FLUORO SCOPY with IITV:- Administrative sanction obtained from the State Govt.and tender notification already given. 
1.5 tesla MRI Scan within the campus under Hindlab – MOU with the Dept. of Radiodiagnosis for PG course –MD Radiodiagnosis in the near future

 Special investigations -  Barium studies, contrast studies of all the Genito-Urinary,Hepato- biliary,fistula,sialography .

Ultrasound  Scanner   -  1nos

Average No: of cases   - 25 to 30  /day

Colour Doppler            -  1nos

Average No: of cases   – 5-7 / day.

C.arm with Image Intensifier – 2 nos
